20 hospitalised after suspected gas leak in Noida

Around 20 employees of a multinational company were admitted to hospital on Tuesday after they complained of uneasiness following a suspected gas leakage on its premises.

The incident was reported from the washing machine unit of South Korea-based Samsung in Noida Phase-II at around 5 pm, sources said.

26/11: India hands over another dossier to Pak

India on Tuesday handed over to Pakistan a fresh dossier of evidence on last year’s Mumbai terror attacks containing statements of key witnesses, including a magistrate and FBI officials, with the hope that the prosecution in Pakistan would be expedited.

The 7th dossier was handed over by Y K Sinha, Joint Secretary (Pakistan Division) in the Ministry of External Affairs, to Pakistan’s Deputy High Commissioner Rifat Masood who was called to the South Block for the same.

2011 Cricket World Cup Schedule

The 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup will be the tenth Cricket World Cup, and will be hosted by three South Asian Test cricket playing countries; India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. It will be Bangladesh’s first time co-hosting a Cricket World Cup. The World Cup will use cricket‘s One Day International format, with fourteen national cricket teams scheduled.^[1] to compete. The World Cup will take place during the months of February and March 2011, with the first match being played on 19 February 2011.^[2]

The World Cup was originally to have been hosted by Pakistan as well, but in the wake of the 2009 attack on the Sri Lanka national cricket team in Lahore, the capital of the Pakistani province of Punjab, the International Cricket Council (ICC) were forced to strip Pakistan of its hosting rights.^[3] The headquarters of the organising committee were originally situated in Lahore, but have now been shifted to Mumbai.^[4] Pakistan was supposed to hold 14 matches, including one semi-final. ^[5] 8 of Pakistan’s Matches have been awarded to India, 4 to Sri Lanka and 2 to Bangladesh.^[6]

Sreesanth makes a surprise comeback agaist Lanka

Temperamental paceman S Sreesanth, whose on-field antics have often landed him in trouble, was on Tuesday surprisingly included in India’s 15-member squad for the first two cricket Tests against Sri Lanka starting November 16 in Ahmedabad.

Pace spearhead Zaheer Khan expectedly returned to the squad after recovering from a shoulder injury, which had kept him out of the tri-series in Sri Lanka and the ensuing Champions Trophy in September.

Headley’s terror target in India

The US government now says Rana and Headley had picked out a military site in Delhi. The new charges were filed as Rana appeared at a bond hearing at the federal court in Chicago.
